Form 1099-DA questions
What is Form 1099-DA?
Brokers use Form 1099-DA to report proceeds from digital-asset dispositions and, for some covered assets, cost basis and holding-period information.
What if Box 1g basis is blank?
Determine basis from your own books and records. A blank basis does not mean the entire proceeds amount is taxable gain.
Do I report digital assets without Form 1099-DA?
Yes. Taxable digital-asset income, gains and losses must be reported even when no information return is received.
